fur real...factoid

Here’s a little something you may not have known about federal labeling laws regarding furs: a loophole in these laws allows manufacturers to omit the fur labeling in certain garments. If the fur is valued at less $150, there doesn’t have to be any mention on the label that there is animal fur on the item. Another example of pointless legislation duping consumers and showing deference to manufacturing lobbyists for the sake of campaign dollars. (Oops, I said that out loud, didn’t I?).

To determine if the article you are purchasing is real or not, push the hairs apart and check the base of the fabric. If you see skin (ewww) then it’s real fur. Fake fur will have fabric at the base. Find out more about this at Your Daily Vegan.
