When Torture will Begin to Matter...

[snip]The article that interests me most...discuss[es]anxiety in American corporations lest the rise of anti-Americanism begin to affect the market for American products abroad. The bottom line, according to the article, is that anti-Americanism has thus far shown little effect on the American bottom line. But some observers think that there may be a delayed effect.

Maybe if torture turns out to be bad for business it will finally be perceived as contrary to American values.[snip]
